In-flow handler before dispatching?

Guys, on axis2.xml file there's the following message:

I'd like to know if it would be "safe" to add a handler before
PostDispatch?. I mean, if I return InvocationResponse.CONTINUE; on the
handler's invoke method would the inflow continue properly? Or is not wise
to interfer on the flow until Post dispatch ;-)
