Hello:

I have created two web services, one using JAX-RPC and the other JAX-WS that
do the same thing. The JAX-WS URL results in a "Hello! This is an Axis2 Web
Service!" while the JAX-RPC results in "Hi there, this is a web service!"
If I open up TCPMon and test the JAX-RPC service I get the following for the
request:

*POST /fiveOneJaxWSProject/services/jaxRPCHello HTTP/1.1
Host: 127.0.0.1:5568
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Content-Length: 354
Accept: application/soap+xml, application/dime, multipart/related, text/*
User-Agent: IBM Web Services Explorer
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma: no-cache
SOAPAction: "fiveOneWsHello"
Connection: close

<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:q0="http://fiveOne <http://fiveone/>"
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"; xmlns:xsd="
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"; xmlns:xsi="
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";>
   <soapenv:Body>
      <q0:fiveOneWsHello>
         <s>nicole</s>
      </q0:fiveOneWsHello>
   </soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>*

The response is not important, but if I add *"Accept-Encoding: gzip"* and
resend the response, it will be sucessfully encoded in gzip with
"Content-Encoding: gzip" in the response.

For the Axis2, JAX-WS web service I receive a similar:

*POST /fiveOneJaxWSProject/jaxWsHelloService HTTP/1.1
Host: 127.0.0.1:5567
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Content-Length: 355
Accept: application/soap+xml, application/dime, multipart/related, text/*
User-Agent: IBM Web Services Explorer
Cache-Control: no-cache
Pragma: no-cache
SOAPAction: ""
Connection: close

<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:q0="http://fiveOne/ <http://fiveone/>"
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"; xmlns:xsd="
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"; xmlns:xsi="
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";>
   <soapenv:Body>
      <q0:fiveOneWsHello>
         <arg0>jp</arg0>
      </q0:fiveOneWsHello>
   </soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>*

However, adding *"Accept-Encoding: gzip"* and resending does not encode the
response at all and nothing in the response changes.

I am using RAD7.0.0.7, Websphere Application Server 6.1.0.19 with the web
services feature pack.

I believe this issue (or something very similar) has been submitted as a bug
but nothing has been done about it:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-3929

Am I missing anything here?

Thanks.
