Hi Martin,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Your response partly resolves my issue. Another main issue I here have is:
what data type should I return? I mean, I would like to return XML content
from webservice, so, should that be a String, byte[],.? And which would be
better in terms of ease, security?

Thanks in advance.

Thank You,

Shravan Kumar. M

SOAP is an XML format which includes envelope/body/fault/service
specifications
http://www.w3schools.com/soap/soap_intro.asp
A very simple example is located at
http://www.w3schools.com/soap/soap_example.asp

You can include constructed *complex* XML dataTypes In your data definitions
as illustrated here

<xs:element name="note">

    <xs:complexType>

      <xs:sequence>

        <xs:element name="to" type="xs:string"/>

        <xs:element name="from" type="xs:string"/>

        <xs:element name="heading" type="xs:string"/>

        <xs:element name="body" type="xs:string"/>

      </xs:sequence>

    </xs:complexType>

</xs:element>

Is this what you're looking for

Hi,

Can anyone advise me, how return XML data from a webservice?

Also, how a client consuming this service should interpret the output, I
mean what type of data can they expect?

Thanks in advance.

Thank You,

Shravan Kumar. M
