I tried with all Axis jars in the websphere\Appserver\lib directory. It still gives the same error.

Hey Gautam

Is there somethign similar to a tomcat common\lib in websphere. If so
try placing the jars that is causing the problems in there instead of in
the webapps.

Yeah, I got the same exception with jaxrpc.jar too.

Did you receive the same exception when you sync'ed up the jaxrpc.jar
with Axis and WS
