gSOAP and AXIS interoperability: attachments

My gSOAP client is unable to read an attachment sent by an AXIS server. 

I think the problem is the AXIS and gSOAP servers differ in how they use
"href" in referencing the content id (cid) of an attachment.

The gSOAP server sends this XML segment to refer to an attachment with a
cid of "cid:id2"; (not "id2"):

  <fileBuf href="cid:id2"/>

The AXIS server sends this XML segment to refer to an attachment with a
cid of "2A869D8F49949F86E70945CF4CE8573D" (not "cid:2A...";):

  <fileBuf href="cid:2A869D8F49949F86E70945CF4CE8573D";
xmlns:ns2="http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap"/>

Which is correct?
