I am new to this group so please excuse me if this question has already been
posted offline. I searched through the list first and could find no previous
examples.
I am trying to integrate Apache FOP (fop-0.20.5rc) with Axis (axis-1_1RC1)
running under Tomcat 4.1.18. I wanted to know if anybody on the list has had
any success with such an endeavor. At this conceptualization stage I am
trying to decide which approach makes the most sense (SwA, JAXM, DIME,
etc.). I would like to design a Web service that accepts a XSL-FO file and
mime type and returns a PDF as an octet stream (thread safe would be nice
too). I have looked at the examples on CapeScience.com, but as a poor
developer I can't afford to shell out 1500 bucks for their app server. I am
just amazed there isn't one example on the net using open source software.
Any advice or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Based on how I
end up implementing this I would like to publish back to the net so at least
one open source example exists for the community.
