WSDL 1.2 isn't finished yet. They're still debating
some core aspects of the definition model. Right now they're talking about
getting rid of the <message> definition.
I suggest that the Axis team wait until there's a
proposed recommendation to work with before starting to develop support for it.

Although lots of people do put a schema behind
a namespace URI, you shouldn't count on it. Even if you do find a schema at
that location, you shouldn't assume that the schema is the only schema that
defines names in the namespace.
It just so happens that in this circumstance
the wsdl namespace URI doesin fact point to the WSDL schema.
In WSDL 1.1, one portType cannot extend another
portType.

WSDL1.2 indeed Girish. Thanks for setting me straight.
Richard, thanks for the URL. I've a nasty habit of thinking that
namespaces don't have schemas behind them for some reason. Bit of practice
will hopefully sort me out.

Is there a WSDL schema or DTD available does anyone know? I'm
just having a quick look at the wsdl spec here and instead of
'portType' they have 'interface'. This is interesting as they mention
that intances of the interface element may extend other interfaces. I
was wondering if this was the same with portTypes? Can one portType
extend the operations within another portType?
