Help needed on Web Services!!!!!

I'm  a final year student reading for a BSc in Information Systems , currently seeking for a project related to web services. I have come across many projects related to web services which deal with commomn business applications like "travel agencies"  and  "web portals" which requires a certain set of services to be written. Instead I would like if any of you'll could suggest a suitable application area with a good scope and which encapsulates a practical business logic with an industrial value.
