I had the same problem before, and I set the my .keystore file location and password for it as follow and it did worked for me:
java -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=<location of your trusted keystore store> -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=<password>

I have apache listening on ports 80 and 443. I'm using mod_rewrite to
take all requests to port 80 and send them through the port 443 virtual
host. mod_jk2 is installed to send all .jsp requests to tomcat on port

staging/QA environment and as such I'm using a self-signed certificate.
I've imported the certificate to /usr/java/jre/lib/security/cacerts via
"cd /usr/java/jre/lib/security/cacerts; keytool -keystore ./cacerts
-import -file /path/to/my/cert.crt". However, I'm still getting the
following exception. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?
