Eclipse is a freely available wonderful tool. You can download plugins that support AXIS from http://www.improve-technologies.com/alpha/axis/
To download Eclipse go to http://eclipse.org/ .

hi ,

In case u are really new to the concepts of servlets and servers and axis..then I would recommend u to use Netbeans available as a bundle with Java SDK and it has an internal Tomcat server....Axis integration is also not difficult...and the best thing is that it has the skeleton to create any pgm..be it a servlet , applet , XML, CORBA , RMI...u really need not worry about the syntax and stuff...check it out

Cheers,
Aarthi.
