Caching is of course an issue, but for instance the HTTP_USER_AGENT, will most
likely be used for 'if (Mozilla) { } elseif(IE) { } elseif(Opera) {}' kinda
logic.
So, would specifically for the user agent, wouldn't you want a javascript
approach,
where it would be split into:
appname
appversion
This would automatically group a lot of browsers and give you 4/5
(depending on your
layout requirements) cacheable files.
