i actually only ever ran a simple test script when i was using mod_perl as a
DSO, so it is possible that the mod_perl DSO was fubar'ed from the beginning
and i didn't notice. it passed "make test", though...
i'm using php + mod_ssl as DSO's just fine, so i don't see any general issue
with DSO's under solaris 9. i ended up sticking with running an additional
instance of apache (with mod_perl compiled statically) and using mod_proxy
to pass back and forth from the "main" server. I would like to go back to a
one-instance setup, though, if anyone has run into a similar issue before
and has any ideas...
