There is another good reason for using XPS, its fun! I found XSLT
depressingly wordy.

I wouldnt worry too much about portability since you should generally
have only a few stylesheets anyway. The whole point of them is so you
can generalise your site into a couple of stylesheets so its easy to
make site wide changes.
And anyway, since they describe the look and feel of a site, they are
prone to change and updates. And when they are changed it should be
relatively easy, I found XSLT required too much thinking! :)

I subscribe to the view "if in doubt, do it the most enjoyable way, they
are bound to pull funding half way through anyway!" :]

and thats absolutely fine. I don't subscribe to the "ban XPS argument at
all". I do subscribe to the view that the kiddies guide should say "if
in doubt, use XSLT".
