Well if I manage to implement the Caching of the serialized image
I really think that shouldn't be a problem, I think AxKit handles it by itself.
2) The underlying Image::Magick-Libray does not support everything svg
provides. But its getting better and better. If someone needs more one
should have to use batik which supports nearly everything but its java.
And is dog slow and is pretty much a dead project. Another option is XML::LibRSVG but I don't know where its recoding is at (anyone?), it has the advantage that it's much less bloated than magick, and, well, MUCH less than Batik.
Still at the moment my images are not too complex Image::Magick is my first choice.
80% of SVG is already an awful lot to work with...
At this point I'll use simply PerlSetVar but I'll think about the pnote-thing.
Actually PerlSetVars can be modified programmatively IIRC, so it's a bit similar to pnotes. That way you could do if (nn4) jpeg else png.
Good point. I've already thought about that. Still I first have to learn how I can built a CPAN-Module which I've never done before.
Famous last words :) It's really really easy, you use h2xs, drop your code in there, edit Makefile.PL and wrap it up.
Read http://cpan.org/misc/cpan-faq.html#How_contribute_modules
At the end some examples:
Very cool :)
And that's what's next on my list after having finished my SVG-Serializer: Writing a Serializer which converts the drawSWF-Files into real Flash-Files.
Bah, Flash is a dead technology. It's terminally uncool.
