Hi 

I had similar difficulties with A::A::Plugin::Session that I couldn't
overcome so I gave up. I think it is a wonderful module but for some
reason it fails on my system.
I think you might want to try the BasicSession module that you can find
on CPAN - it is quite minimalistic compared to A::A::Plugin::Session but
it works just fine for me.
