Okay, Im trying to use a Wiki for multi west european
langugaes but have run into a small problem.

When I use non english chars (I guess non ascii) in
the textarea, they get inserted into MySQL as weird
chars. When the page is requested for viewing, the
weird chars are interpreted correctly for viewing (ie
as west euro chars).

The problem arises when I want to edit that page. the
weird chars are inserted into the textarea and stay
that way for the rest of their life on the wiki.

I've tried a simple non web db entry with perl and the
chars are entered into the DB asis and retrieved asis
:)

So, with all the layers (Apache, Perl, XML, XSP,
MySQL) all dealing with latin1, UTF-8 by default, what
am I to do . Has anyone covered this?

I did a little test on axkit's wiki and the result was
worse than mine. The wiki didn't display the chars
correctly atall.

I know axkit is UTF8 by default, my MySQL is latin1 by
default etc etc. It's confusing.

Any help would be great
