I have met like trouble too. In during XSL transformation, in my case,
LibXSLT can't handle uncorrect characters of document. It is proper
behavior, but later, when I fetch a correct document, I get like error
periodically. The behavior of AxKit depends from previous error with
LibXSLT.

For solve this I'm using undocumented variable of AxKit in httpd.conf

<Directory /foo/bar/www/data/>
    PerlSetVar AxDisableXSLTStylesheetCache On
    AllowOverride All
</Directory>
