A standard self registration page, with registration confirmation via email, would solve most of this problem.


Even better would be if 'new' wiki accounts were slightly limited. I.e. could only edit one page per 24 hours, or something like that.

Then once a user is shown to be a good wiki citizen, they get full access.

But just getting the first step in place would really help.
