I spoke too soon - that was the answer to my problem.  I just tried to
start Apache and it didn't choke on the LoadModule this time!  Now just
to get a working test xsp page going and I think I'm set.  So, to
summarize, my major problem was that I was running "perl Makefile.PL &&
make && make test" as root, rather than a normal user.  I ran "make
install" as root after that, and it works like a charm (so far).
