I had the same problem just now. I did the opposite (upgraded from 1.7 to SVN) and that fixed it.

Downgrading to LibXML/XSLT 1.58 worked like a charm.

Thanks,

P.S. Would this make a good FAQ question?

Upgrading XML::LibXML to 1.59 breaks AxKit.

You can either use AxKit SVN or XML::LibXML 1.58.

I recommend the former if you can (some places it breaks corp policy), because there have been a lot of fixes to XML::LibXML.

I'm getting an error in my log files saying:
Can't use string ("XML::LibXSLT") as a HASH ref while "strict refs"

I've read one post about this and it mentioned a patch. What caused AxKit to break? Is it the actual LibXML libraries or the CPAN XML modules?

What versions are safe or recommended with Axkit?

Thanks in advance
