session-service.c doesn't need it (the way this port was done) because I didn't allow the service daemon to be dual gtk2/gtk3. Just the indicator plugin. So the service daemon is always gtk3.
As for the dbusmenu-gtk3.h issue... This was an ugly wart from when I ported it to gtk3. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/dbusmenu/+bug/596171/comments/9 for why.
