Regarding the desktop vision, I think it has improved awesomely. The notification area is much more stylish and useful, the current default theme and icons of gnome has a refreshing air over it and yet not moving away from the characteristic colors that defines the Ubuntu distribution. I experience moving to ibus for multi-lingual keyboard input was a good choice.
What might be missing though is automatically adding file creation templates to ~/templates when a new software is installed. The default games could be improved, there are other foss games in genres other than casual games available(just saying). Whether we include it appears to be an open question now. This is a whole separate thread. More importantly, I'm concerned about the desktop vision. And I think that concern is valid. If you want proof, check the mailing list stats. This has generated the most mail of any thread in quite a while, even Mark's post about closing the list. The people on this list are passionate supporters of Ubuntu. And again, they are the marketing muscle behind it's success. ... _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : ayatana@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
