Some more details on the 'notification center' as its apparently called can be found here: <http://live.gnome.org/Boston2008/GUIHackfest/WindowManagementAndMore>; a research on status indicators can be found here: <http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/Research/StatusIndicators>. The GNOME Shell design document is located here: <http://www.gnome.org/~mccann/shell/design/GNOME_Shell-20091114.pdf> (the Messaging Mode section contains details and at least one screenshot of the new notification method) and something similar to the applications indicator can be found on <http://www.gnome.org/~mccann/shell/mockups/20091114/shell-mockup-overview.png>, originally posted here: <http://blogs.gnome.org/mccann/2009/11/14/mockturtlesuppe/>. Something like the Me applet was discussed here: <http://blogs.gnome.org/mccann/2008/10/24/presentity/>. If I'm correct the Notify OSD of GNOME Shell is called the Message Tray. It is further explained here: <http://blogs.gnome.org/mccann/2009/07/05/getting-the-message/>, the blog post links to a screencast demo at <http://www.gnome.org/~mccann/shell/mockups/20090630-demo/>. It seems like GNOME Shell is going to duplicate a lot of the Indicator efforts from Canonical. -- Sense Hofstede [ˈsɛn.sə ˈɦɔf.steːdə] _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ayatana Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ayatana More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
