BTRFS is a filesystem, to deeply use and integrate it you would have to
choose it directly at installation time. A little too much intrusive e
poorly flexible option, I think.
SparkleShare ( http://sparkleshare.org/ ) seems to me a better solution:
it permits versioning, it permits remote sync (iCloud ;-P ?), works over
the traditional GIT so the user's repository can be accessed directly
from any other applications even if SparkleShare itself doesn't
implements a required API, it already has a Nautilus plugin...
It actually misses two thinks:
1) a user-proof wizard to create a new repository, perhaps on the local
machine
2) the "ultra-cool-time-warp-with-stars-in-background" interface, but
probably someone with enough bad taste can provide it...
