Elaine, could you see if you can find a Conceicao Medeiros Silva in your book? She was born around 1885, unfortunately I don't know exactly when she died, I just know that the last record I have of her was her living at 139 Hathaway in 1960. It's a little odd because I have two receipts for lots in Pine Grove, but when I called the cemetary department, I found out that her son Joseph was buried in one, and her husband Manuel was buried in the other, but she's nowhere to be found!
Also, where is Dartmouth in relation to New Bedford and Fall River? My grandfather's sister lives there..at least according to the SouthCoast Today article I found online last year talking about how she and her husband Cezar Bettencourt celebrated their 70th anniversary last year. (Lucky me it listed their 13 kids for my family tree) It seems most of their brood live either in Dartmouth or New Bedford. I'm not sure if I have any relatives from my grandmother's family out there. She only had 2 brothers, one died at a young age, and the other lived down here with his wife, but they're both gone as well, so I just know about their kids Gloria, Ron, and Charles, and it seems they spell their name Silvia. Gloria actually called us when my grandma died, so I just have to track down who it was that told her and maybe I can get the phone number and she can get me in touch with one of her brothers so I can talk to them about the test...I don't know what it is about these Silvas, it's like they don't want me to get any information!...but I'm only 25, that gives me at least another 75 years to solve the mystery. Thanks for the weather tips. Joanne, you're right, I wouldn't be able to travel in September or October unless I had a long weekend, and even that would only give me a few days.
