Hi All: My LIMAs go back to LIMA ANDRADE to ANDRADE in the Sao Miguel Archanjo
church in Villa Franca do Campo, in about 1690s to 1703.

P.S. You've got to keep on your toes with this research....even different
siblings (of the same parents) took (or were given) different family name
combinations !!

Theresa:
I know the first names of this couple match and also the locations and the
years... but in my head, I just can't believe that Antonio Jose de Lima's
grandfather and great grandfathers had another last name, that they were not de
Lima's. I have to find those certificates.
This is the first time I've researched an ancestor this far back, so who
knows; anything is possible. I would just be shocked. (I don't know why;
maybe it's because then we wouldn't really know where the last name came from.
Well, I know it came from his mother, Marianna's line. But why would he not
take the last name of the father? Isn't that odd?
Why would Antonio Jose de Lima's, b 1803 be a de Lima from his mother's
side and not his father. I have to try to find some certificate with his
father's last name, the Francisco Jose who was married to Marianna Joaquina de
Lima. I know they named their son, Antonio, after her father, Antonio.
You seem so certain; probably because you've been at this for a long time
and perhaps you've seen this before?
Warm regards,
Maria Elena
