I have just found something interesting on the University of Minho site.
I had a copy of my biological father's birth record (from the Civil Registry in
Horta Faial.) His parents and grandparents were named in that document. He
was baptized at the Matriz in Horta. I began checking for my biological
father, Leonel Soares de Azevedo Matriz and did not find him named in Matriz.
I found him in Conceicao as "Leonel?," with the correct date of birth and
parents.
As I continued to search in both Matriz and Conceicao, I found that Leonel?
1891 and Isilda? 1897 were listed in Conceicao. Lucilia? 1890; Izilda?
1892-1892; and Joao? 1895, were listed in Matriz.
After some thinking, I figure that Joao de Deus Soares de Azevedo and Isilda
Ferreira de Azevedo had 2 of their children baptized in Conceicao and the rest
in Matriz.
Thought some might like to know that just when you think you have all the
family figured out, a little more digging turns up more children.
