I am Charlotte and I had asked if anyone could help find any information on
my grandfather Joseph Tavares Ferreira who came to Hawaii as a little boy.
His father was also Jose Tavares Ferreira and his mother Maria August
Pimentel. They came from Riberia Grande in 1881. I would love to find out
who his grandparents were.

When I saw you were asking for information on the name Borba. I remembered a
little old lady that used to rent an apartment from my parents here in
Hawaii. Her name was Caroline Borba. Borba was her married name. She had
two sons. One was George and I can not remember the other. She was so sweet
and kind to me when I was a little girl and did not speak much English. My
parents would talk to her in Portuguese. Could she be family. Borba was an
unusual name in Hawaii.
