Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Re: Calvary Catholic Cemetery - San Jose, CA
Question

Hello Cheri ~ Yesterday, my parents went to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery
office an obtain a print out of the family members in the Borba and Barbe
plots. The two in question do not have headstones and I wasn't even aware they
were there. My parents are still in San Jose and went back to the cemetery
today with my father's cousin. They believe Dealton (d 03-07-1934) was the 8
year old child of Jack Borba/Barbe who passed away from Lukemia. The church
I'm assuming would have been Five Wounds Church. With the obit search, how do
you go about doing that on an infant with no name? I tried a search on
Ancestry.com for the 1934 date of death with the first name of Dealton, with no
luck.
The deaths on Ancestry.com don't start until about 1940.
You might try the San Jose Mercury News for the Obituary. OR, you can go to
the State Library in Sacramento. They have Birth, Marriage, & Death records.
Then you could go across the street to the Archives to look at all of their OLD
records.
I was in San Jose this past October trying to find death info. That was
wasted time. They won't let you look at the records. You have to tell them
what you want and they will look it up. It makes pretty hard to do when you
don't know exactly what you are looking for.
I have seen, in the books in Sacramento, Something like BABY MELLO or Borges
or whatever. The people at the library are very helpful

My great-grandfather's 1 year old son is buried there, but I don't know if
the child passed away in Santa Clara County or Newman, CA? Dosen't make a
difference to me where the child passed away - just that I know where the child
is buried. My problem with this child is I can't find his birth mother. A
week ago we drove to Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman, CA and she's in their
records, but we (even the cemetery manager) couldn't find her.
What is this woman's name? Do you know about when she died? Where?

  Good Luck
  Shirley

  It's all a mystery! :)
