Re: Maria Isabel da Silva
The information you provided in your message allowed me to find my
grandmothers passport registration dated Oct. 5, 1900-1902 livro 1 0000277.
She is
the first one listed on the page. Her brother Francisco Furtado traveled with
her. They arrived October 26,1900, Ellis Island on the Dona Maria
Now I will search for him.
Thank you

Cheryl,

No indices for Ponta Delgada passaportes records.

A person could register at any time. It seems like most registered a couple
of weeks before the boat sailed. I start on the date the boat arrived in
America and start going back in time until I find them. That way I don't miss
them and searching when they are sailing (and I know darn well they won't
appear in that section of the passaportes) allows me to get used to the
handwriting and format of the records.
