Hello Char, It sounds like the records after 1900 are still at the registry or they have not updated the site for the Archives. ( I think you meant to say ended instead of started in 1900) The FHC would not have a film for that year as they only filmed records up to the year 1884 for Ribeira Seca. All the records prior to the year 1905 should be at the Archives in Ponta Delgada. If you know the date of birth I would still send the request to the Archives as the record you are looking for is over 100 years old.
When you request the record include all information you have for the person. Name date of birth parents name village.
