I have some pictures from my 2006 trip to Sao Jorge.  Because I like to have a
photograph of the church, baptismal font and altars where my ancestors were
baptized, married, etc. I have some from Rosais.

A few years ago, I took a picture of a font thinking it was the font where the
ancestor had been baptized.  When I returned to the same church to talk to the
priest, I happened to mention that the font looked newer than those I had seen
in other churches.  He told me is had been replaced after some problem
occurred.  I asked where the old font was and was told it was attached to the
wall in the back room and used for the priests to wash his hands.  I now have a
picture of the old font where my husband's ancestor was baptized.

Since that, I always ask about the age of the fonts.  In Rosais, the "old" font
(the largest I have seen so far) is in a park and used as a bird bath.  I have
a picture of that font too.

I don't know how long it will take me to scan the pictures; however, contact me
off list and I will send you the scans as soon as I can.  Celeste, Hayward, CA
