Thank you for you help.

I took Cheri's advice and sent an e-mail to them. They also changed my
maternal grandfather's name and took out the "das" out of his name. He is also
from Lajes do Pico. He also has Brum as part of his surname. I wonder if
there is any relation or it could be just coincidence?

It's funny, the link to his wife lists her correct parents but doesn't list her
name as she does not turn 100 till next year (she died in 1983).

Thanks ... Liz

FYI, over a year ago one of our listers sent a msg stating the name of someone
he/she was told to contact about errors on NEPS. I then sent a msg to the same
person about a "missing link" for one of my ancestors from Pico. That link has
now been added as well as more descendants and info from more "recent" dates
for him and other ancestors from Lajes do Pico from another family. Not sure
if this has happened for other areas of Pico or other islands or not. I found
the email I sent and the man's name is Victor (didn't have his last name in my
email) and his email is: [email protected] My email was written in English.
I gave specific names and dates that I had found on LDS microfilms showing the
link plus the fact that we had the same info on copies of passport and baptism
records that we had.

It may be coincidence that this link was fixed but maybe not. I also noticed
that the name of another ancestor was changed somewhat and I had a hard time
finding him. Not sure why it was changed but here is what happened. His name
used to be listed as Joao de Brum dos Santos de Macedo. It is now listed as
Joao Brum Santos Macedo. So you could say that it was somewhat anglicized.
Anyway, thought I would mention this in case someone else runs into the same
problem(s).

I don't think anyone from the NEPS site is subscribed to this list. So they
may not see your queries.

I know a woman who saw some misinformation on the site. She did contact them
(she wrote in English) and they sent her back an email. Is there a "Contact
Us" link at the bottom of the web site? Maybe one of you could contact them
and then report back to us.
