Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for the link. I've been able to find information on family
members who moved to Fall River in the 1800/1900 through the link supplied on
this list, two days ago in the Diario dos Acores I found a couple of ads dating
back to 1952 and 1963 detailing all about the family of JOHN VICENTE and da
Costa.

Many thanks to the President of Açores and the State of MA for such wonderful
coloboration and to the Azores group for providing the link.

Hello List; Exciting news for those of you tracing ancestors in MA. From
[email protected] comes the news about a Portuguese-American
Newspaper Available Online. The /Diario de Noticias,/ widely known at the time
as the "Portuguese Daily News," began as /Alvorada Di€ ¦ária /(/Daily
Awakening/) in 1919, when Guilherme Luiz purchased /A Alvorada,/ a weekly
Portuguese-language newspaper published in New Bedford, Massachusetts/. /In
1919 it became a daily, and in 1927 the name was changed to /Di€ ¦ário de Not€
¦ícias/. Jo€ ¦ão R.
