If you are unfamiliar with Alien Registration, read about it on the Azores Genweb: _http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/HowTo_Part_1e.html#alien_ (http://homepage.mac.com/kmacardoza/Genealogy/HowTo_Part_1e.html#alien) Dick Eastman wrote about Alien Registration today: _http://tinyurl.com/l7wlje_ (http://tinyurl.com/l7wlje) Be sure to read the link from Dick's blog to the Kansas City Star. Sounds like the FOIA form G-639 will no longer be required. There currently is no index and it sounds like you have to search there yourself (unless you know a researcher in that area). Note the 100 year rule (it's 2009 so the person's DOB needs to be 1909 or earlier) and new ones will be released in batches every 5 years (just like the Azores). -- Cheri Mello Listowner, Azores-Gen Researching: Vila Franca, Ponta Garca, Ribeira Quente, Ribeira das Tainhas, Achada **************Download the AOL Classifieds Toolbar for local deals at your fingertips.
