Is the $82 per night a per person rate or room rate?

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Azores Genealogy Conference, Salt Lake City,
Utah, June 23-26, 2010

Announcing the first ever Azores Genealogy Conference!

Date: Wednesday, June 23, 2010 through Saturday, June 26, 2010 (Sunday
morning will be an informal breakfast of sorts)
Where: Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square and utilizing the Family
History Library next door
  http://www.plaza-hotel.com/P_Genealogy.html
Speakers: Cheri Mello & Rosemarie Capodicci.
  Registration fee: $50 until May 15, 2010

This is still in the planning stages and taking shape. I'll know more by
mid-October. So far, the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel has agreed to reserve 20 hotel
rooms for us (under the reservation name "Azores Genealogy" 1-800-366-3684) for
$82 a night (conference price). I'll have to figure out "roommates" later for
those traveling alone.

You can help us plan by emailing me directly at gfscherim at gmail dot com
and answering a few questions (just copy and paste what is below into a new
email). I may revise this further based on the results I receive. This is
just to help us plan. This doesn't mean you are attending.

  1) What level of researcher are you (via the definitions below)?
Beginning (just getting into genealogy and learning about things like
organizing research, vital records, census, newspapers, etc).
Intermediate (can do genealogy basics, but need a little bit beyond that).
Advanced (found my freguesia/village, but can't read a word of Portuguese)

  2) What type(s) of records are you most interested in?
Examples: Census, naturalization, alien registration, vitals (birth,
marriage, and death), Social Security, DNA, World War I Draft, passenger
arrival records, Portuguese Vital Records, Portuguese Passaportes (leaving the
Azores), using the microfilm, etc.

  3) Format type: My first vague survey came back with computers loud and
clear! I will work on getting a computer classroom for us. We will work demos
into our lecture too (I think it will be PowerPoint). I don't think we'll have
live Internet access, but I'll double check on that. Other format types that I
can think of would be Focus Groups (example: from 1-2 pm on such-and-such a
day, Cheri will have a focus group that will discuss alien registration and
Rosemarie will have one discussing the Social Security Death index (I made that
up)). One-on-ones: By that, I mean we'd be at your beck and call. Something
like half hour slots, from something like 6 to 9 pm where we'd sit with you for
30 minutes and help you navigate the film, the CCA web site, Ancestry.com or
whatever.
