Yes, Cheri, she could have been an orphan. I just learned that the orphans were baptized at the Matriz and there MAY be a book in Ribeira Grande. I am going to check on that. I did look at the obitos and found that 3 of the siblings had died as infants. That explains why they did not immigrate to the US. The book of passports for Ponta Delgada for 1909 is lost.
