I believe it is one of the society, like the I.D.E.S. in  California.   My 
Portuguese is not real good but I believe it is  the Emigrates of Saint 
Christ.  Now "de" could mean "the".  I am  not sure but you might check where 
she lived at because that group still  might be around.  Most of the Society 
have been around for years  and year.  I live in CA, in a small town Santa 
Cruz and we have several of  groups like this and my great-grandparent help 
start some of these groups  and like always you get involved at a young age.  
Most of the Society  deal with "Festa" from the old country.
