Repost for Don Correia, Drtire at aol.com

<<I finally got a link to my Manuel Correia Tavares connection. found
Manuel Correia Tavares in Cemetary with date and through Joan at the
Library in New Bedford, found a Manuel Correia, 35 YO died on Oct 23,
1913 in the New Bedford Deaths for that date, with father's name as
Manuel Correia, and Mother as Elina Tavares. so tht has cleared up
the name, but no explanation on why he was buried as Manuel C.
Tavares. We may never know.
wife was Maria dos Anjos, and I beleive the maiden name was Pacheco,
in that the middle names of the children were all Pacheco. I also
have a birth Certificate for a girl, Maria, born to Maria and Manuel De
Souza, in Agua De pau, in 1895, and this has some translation which
says it is an "illiterate certificate issued June 8, 1912" I have
this scanned in and can send it to anyone who would translate it in
full. I am not sure if this is a child of Maria's from a first
Marriage or not. in 1912 she would have been 17 and the discription
is of a person about that age.

I have not been able to come up with the date of arrival here in USA,
nor when His wife, Maria arrived with Joe or Joao, and Manuel, other
than 1910, but have not found the immigration papers as yet. Would
appreciate any informmation anyone has regarding any of this. I
beleive they were from Agua De Pau, but that could be wrong also.

Any help will be appreciated. I have done the passportes etc but have
not been able to find aanything as yet.

thanks to all for a great group and site here.
Don Correia>>
