David, I have not searched notary records. So I'm not sure if I'm remembering this information correctly. Others who have searched will correct or amend my statements.
The notary records were not filmed. The only way to see them is to go the regional archive yourself or hire a researcher to go search for you. They notary records are filed alphabetically under the name of the lawyer or person who drew up the papers, not your ancestor's name. That's what I seem to remember.
