There are other sources that dispute those claims.
There are other royal Azorean lines, e.g.,: The descendants of Garcia Rodrigues Camelo and Leonor Soeira, descends from D. Afonso III and the Moorish concubine. The descendants of Maria Coutinho (d. 1667) and Manuel da Câmara Sá, descend from Pedro I and Inês de Castro. The descendants of D. Jorge Gonçalves Pereira and Guiomar Fernandes da Silva descend from D. Fernando I. There are many other families in the Azores that have royal ancestors. The trick is to be able to go back far enough in your research to an ancestor who has been thoroughly researched by a reputable genealogist or historian and then to have access to that work. Otherwise it will be very slow going with many detours into unreliable, oftentimes discredited sources. -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected].
