I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. I had my Dad with me at the end, too because of his illnesses so I know what you were going through.

While he had had ups and downs over the last year with breathing problems, it was completely unexpected. He went into the hospital for his emphysema, was about to be released, then the next day he began showing different symptoms. It turned out that his colon was bad. He died 3 days after emergency surgery. My Dad and I were very close. When I couldn't work anymore he allowed me to live in his house without question. As he aged, I began taking over control of the household and then his medical needs. When he was put on oxygen last year, I helped him learn the equipment and remembered the things that were too much for him to deal with. I am not with the program right now. I am sort of checking the group and the IslandRoutes (Portuguese Hawaiian google group). Cheri is normally in charge of this group, but will also keep an eye on the other until I get my brains together. I appreciate everyone's patience as I slowly get back into the swing of things.
