I think that is her. All the pieces are coming together! You mentioned 4 sons or children. Do you think this means all that is still living, because I believe her daughter is my wife's immigrant great grandfather's mother? So I take that to mean the daughter had already died? I found what I believe to be her (Joaquina's) grandson's baptism. It listed the same street on that document. The way this document is worded should I assume the husband is still living at this time? Also, the other documents I have found show her husband to be Jose de Souza. This would be the first document with Furnas as the surname. Is this a surname or do I assume he came from Furnas? I always feel I am somewhat guessing with these documents since they have the forever changing names.
