While doing research on the freguesia of Santa Catarina in the
Concelho of Castelo Branco on the island of Faial, I came across the
phrase of "obito de exposto." The only thing I have been able to
figure out is that in two Portuguese-English Dictionaries it
translates as "displayed deaths."  What does that mean?  Does it mean
an autopsy was done?  Any help would sure be appreciated.
