You are off to a great start. I did find the Ancestry obit for George
(1947) which lists survivors as his wife Katherine, his daughter in law
Geraldine, grandson Dean of San Carlos, and siblings Harry S. San Carlos;
EI; WS; LA; of Sebastopol; Frank of Penn Grove; CM Sacramento; Mrs. Jack
Norton Vallejo; CE Oswill San Pablo and late brother Joseph W. Do you have
this George obit? I notice there are 2 family trees for your family on
Ancestry, yours and an Adams. 1880 has them in Sausalito, 1900 has them in
Analy, Sonoma County. You have William born 1886 in Hayward. So between
1880 and 1900 they have lived in those 3 places and looking at this, I am
trying to find the likely place where the other children were born...we
know Emanuel was born in RI, I did not find him in the Ancestry RI birth
index because of the date. Have you tried to obtain a birth record for him
from Providence. If there is one, it might give more information on the
parents or at least their address which might give an idea of where he was
baptized. Chances are he was baptized in a church in Providence. Do you
have the obits for parents Manuel and Jennie? For daughter Virginia, you
can call the cemeteries in Sonoma to see if she is buried there. Which
Borba daughter was married to Jack Norton?
I know you are trying first to find out where in Sao Jorge they came from.
What other data, specifically, are you looking for?
Do you also live in CA? I live close to Sacramento where the State Library
is and if you are also close by you could go there to do some of your
research.
