After a certain number of years, the grave is reused for another person. You probably won't find a headstone there. Angra: It's not too big to walk. I think Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel was a little larger, but I walked that too. I don't mind walking, though. When I toured Terceira (with a band) we did it over 2 days and stopped in every freguesia (village). You can see some ruins from earthquakes and stuff. If you stop at the Casa de Povo and ask, someone will tell your taxi driver where to go or if someone with that name still lives there. Almost every freguesia has a Casa de Povo. Yes, cars are small. The taxis all seem to be Mercedes Benz, though.
