Cheri et al: You and I have been out of touch for several years now, but I thought I would chime in here with my De Mello's in Nordeste since I at still unable to go any further back than my great great grandparents there.
Manuel de Mello, N.S. Anuncicao, Achadinha, Sao Migeul, married to Maria da Estrella, of N.S. Conceicao, Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel. I have no dates at all for them, however, one of their sons (my great grandfather) was Joao de Mello Faulha (or Fautho?), born/baptized May 1841, N.S. Conceicao, Ribeira Grande. I would certainly be grateful for any assistance in identifying them or others in the family that goes back further in the line.
