I have seen that program before. It is a travel program. This particular episode goes to places in Africa where the Portuguese estabished the slave trade. Slaveryane the primary role which Portugal played in the slave trade, is one of those topics that the Portuguese (especially those from the continent) almostalways refuse to talk about or acknowledge. It looks like they have a show about Portugal and the Azores next Monday on WGBH out of Boston . It appears to be about slavery, the show is called Globe-Trekker. http://www.wgbh.org/programs/Globe-Trekker-120/episodes/Portugal--The-Azores-9461 Steven From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Cheri Mello Sent: Thursday, March 03, 2011 8:58 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Azores on PBS If you google "the raising of the k-129" you get information from Wikipedia and You Tube. But it's about a ship, not about genealogy or the people of the Azores . So I'm still not sure what Iris was looking for. But people who are interested in military type stuff would find the K-129 interesting.
