When I spoke to the Ancestry representative she told me the problem was a
function of dealing with a 64bit vs 32bit system. Apparently all the Family
Tree Versions up to and including 16 were written for the 32bit.

Subject: Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Need Computer Guru's Help Win XP vs Win 7
FamilyTreeMaker Question

I don't have Windows 7. But at one of my genealogy meetings, someone was
talking about "virtual machine" or something like that. I don't think it
comes with the standard Windows 7, but with the professional Windows 7. I
think that feature allows Windows 7 to behave like Windows XP. Or that's
the way I understood it. Like I said, I don't have Windows 7. If you have
that feature, I believe you can run older software. Might be worth Google
that.

And you know all the Mac people are laughing about the Windows PC problems!
