Ironically, I have another great-great grandfather on my maternal side that worked for Southern Pacific in Sacramento... as far as I know he was working as an attendant at a railroad crossing in the early 1900's... apparently there was a runaway car or something and he tried to jump onto it to stop the car... unfortunately he ended up underneath it and lost his arm... and a little time later, he lost his life due to complications from the injuries... Uh oh, I changed the subject on my own thread. =)
